Alan Strong was formerly Head of Drama at Boundstone Community College.

He was a teacher, director, writer and actor, working within the professional theatre as well as within education. His dedication to theatre has continued beyond his death and it was his wish that young people from West Sussex should be assisted in training and preparation for the professional theatre.

If you've been involved in drama during your time at a West Sussex school, and would benefit from an award to help pay for your course fees then apply for The Alan Strong Award.

Students from Central Sussex College, Felpham Community College, Steyning Grammar School, The Angmering School, Bishop Luffa School and Boundstone Community College have all benefited from the award.

The awards for 2009/10 went to: Joe Potter, Tom Child and Mark Newnham. Congratulations to you all and good luck for the future!
