Preparing for a career in the Theatre? |
|
|
|
A course for Year 11 or Sixth Form students who are preparing to apply for training in the theatre – actor, technician, designer and more.
From Thursday 26th August to Friday 3rd September from 10.00 to 4.30 at The Drama Annex, Furnace Drive, Furnace Green, Crawley RH10 6JB.
Working with theatre professionals and with Jonathan Goodwin from Central Sussex College and Anne Fenton General Adviser Drama you will be taken through the process of applying for drama school. You will choose a suitable audition speech and be guided how to choose other speeches as well as finding a song within your range. During the week you will be part of improvisation, dance and drama workshops. For those of you applying for a technical option you will develop your portfolio and undergo interview practice.
On Friday 3rd September your parents and friends will be invited to a performance evening. We will explain the process to your parents and ensure they are clear about the commitment you are undertaking by applying to drama school. The evening will include performances by students already at drama schools and those who have been successful in obtaining a place.
The cost of the weeklong workshop will be £120 – and this will entitle you to attend further sessions in the Autumn Term as you begin your auditions and interviews. Since the average cost of an audition is £50 – this course will save you money in the long term!
“The course really helped me in making my choices and giving me the opportunity to perform and get feedback from so many different theatre professionals. It’s a must if you want to get into Drama School” Gavin Fowler - currently completing his course at RADA.
“Attending the course helped me to decide on the right path ahead. I was able to find out about Applied Theatre Courses and get the right information about preparation for the audition. I was finally accepted on two courses and am beginning my studies at Central School of Speech and Drama in September.” Alex Pett - WSCYT member |
